Loop
One of the best hikes in Sedona however, it does require a high cleance 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the trailhead. The trailhead is 3.5 miles up Shcnebly Hill Road. The parking area is a large slickrock area with the Munds Wagon Trail on the right. This loop starts on Munds Wagon Trail and follows Schnebly Hill road back down towards Sedona. After .25 miles, the trail crosses Schnebly Hill road and continues for another mile until reaching the trail junction with the Hangover Trail.Turn right onto the Hangover Trail and begin the ascent to the first saddle. This is an easy path to follow through a sparce forest area with great views of Damfino Canyon. Once at the first saddle, the trail reaches a slickrock area with white dashes painted on the sandstone. Further along the trail climbs a steep slickrock portion not recommended when wet. From this point there is excellent views of Sedona to the south. The trail levels out as it traverses below a large tower formation then back onto slickrock below a second formation. After passing the second formation, the trail climbs to a second saddle with vast views of Damfino Canyon on one side and Sedona on the other. The trail descends over slickrock ledges down into a wash and back up onto Schnebly Hill Road. The trailhead parking is directly across the road.
