The Gully Brook Valley Trail is a great trail which loops through and explores Lake County's Gully Brook MetroPark. The trail is marked by a blaze with a silhouetted owl. Starting from the parking area, you can choose to either travel in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
Going clockwise, you'll start from the trailhead on the south side of the parking lot (left as you enter the parking area). The trail is 8-10 ft. wide, level, and crushed gravel, making for a smooth and easy hike. The trail weaves through several distinct ecosystems and eventually finishes up alongside a small creek which feeds into the Chagrin River a short way downstream of the park. There are several interpretive signs on the north side of the trail. You'll finish up going past a bonfire pit, playground, bathrooms, and information board before reaching the parking area.
There is a connector trail which bisects this loop and can be used to make for a shorter loop or longer roughly 1.6-mile figure-eights.
Be friendly and say "hi" to the other folks out enjoying this beautiful park!
