The trailhead is located near the Paul Lawrence Interpretive Center. Head east from the parking lot to find the trail. Quickly, you'll come to a fork; take the left fork to stay on the Sand Cave Trail. The trail follows down a ravine until it ends at Big Sand Cave. From here, head back the way you came or continue onto the Little Sand Cave Loop.
