Three Finger Canyon

Three Finger Canyon is one of many located on the east side of the San Rafael Swell. It is a wide canyon with several mines, all of which are sealed. The adventure is really the drive to the parking area of the canyon. Rocky and remote -- a high clearance vehicle is recommended.From the parking area, enter the canyon by dropping down along a trail slightly. There are several potholes on the left that are easily passed on the right. There is an obvious trail for a short distance then there are several meandering trails up the canyon. Watch on the left for a long ramp on the side of a hill. This ramp leads to several mines, or what looks like the start of mining activity.Explore up the canyon as far as you like and return the way you came.
