Description
The goal of my route was to get to and do the Tecate Trail. It was about 3.3 miles from the North, a bit off Sequoia, with nice views of the hills along the way. It would have been longer from the South, Las Virgenes or the West, Lang Ranch. From the East, it is a lot closer, however, that is a gated community. It is dirt roads up until the trail. Some steep sections. The start of East Tecate can be easily missed since it angles back from the road. There was a patch of ground bee entrances. Once on the trail it was fairly clear and narrow, this was April 2021. It meanders through shallow canyons and there were occasional wildflower fragrances. The creek beds were all dry. There is occasional shade and some trees but mostly exposed.
