Notice
The temperature and weather data from SNOTEL stations may differ from regular weather service reports because SNOTEL stations are often located in specific, high-altitude or remote areas that experience unique microclimates. These stations are designed to monitor snowpack and localized environmental conditions, which can result in temperature variations compared to broader weather service measurements taken in more populated or lower-elevation regions.

Most North American Avalanche Centers produce daily avalanche forecasts, which apply to specific geographic areas for a specific amount of time (usually 24 to 48 hours). The avalanche forecast provides additional critical details about the avalanche danger, avalanche problems, travel advice, weather forecast, and other relevant snowpack or avalanche information for minimizing your avalanche risk.
