Trail Overview

This little offshoot from the main "Tour De Southwest Washington County" trail has grand views and outstanding rock formations. Be sure to take the offshoot to see the birthing cave and Petroglyphs. The first section traveling from the north to south is a long rocky, not too steep hill climb that then emerges along a scenic ridgeline to a cattle gate. Don't forget to keep this gate closed as directed by the sign. The trail turns much more technical once past the gate and the turnoff for the cave. There are steep rocky descents with large shelves, boulders, and off-camber sections. There is a long stretch of sand and another technical hill climb with large and loose boulders. Near the end, there are a few dispersed camping spots and some lovely shade trees to cool off under. One bar of LTE cellular service fades in and out.
