Trail Overview
This 3.5-mile long single track starts on the north end with a long river crossing across Slate Creek, as it departs from the Upper Slate Creek single track. The crossing is a little slippery and rocky, but not too deep, please tread lightly and use caution on any creek crossing. It goes south as a narrow dirt single track through a dense forest, with small rock pieces in the trail, like rock chips, and roots in the trail. It's a little bit troughed in spots too. It has several switchbacks that sometimes have water bars going across the trail to prevent erosion, and you kind of have to hop up them when going uphill. There's a lot of exposed side-hilling, like many of the trails in the area, and a few rockier sections with more loose rock in the trail. Most of the trail is cut, but there are likely a few downed logs you'll have to cross or cut. It has a couple of other creek crossings as well that are moderately difficult.

Difficulty
Overall, it's an intermediate trail because of narrow and exposed side-hilling, and several switchbacks. This trail isn't as narrow as some of the other surrounding trails in this trail system.
