Trail Overview

5S15 Rouse Hill Trail is a scenic trail that winds its way from Highway 74 in Hemet, CA to Thomas Mountain Trail near Lake Hemet in Idyllwild. You begin your journey through an easy dirt road with beautiful orange groves. The trail then begins to gain difficulty as you climb in altitude. The fun begins as you encounter steeper hills with ruts as deep as 2 feet. Many amazing views of the city and canyons below become the norm. Stay vigilant as there are blind narrow switchbacks o and numerous animals on the trail. As you reach the end of Rouse Hill there is a 4-Rated extra credit Hill climb and downhill obstacle that doubles back to the trail within 50 feet. Proceed with care as there are risks of rollover on the uphill climb and especially on the downhill obstacle. It's a beautiful trail that will satisfy anyone's desire to escape the city.
