Trail Overview
Starting off wide and welcoming, this trail progressively becomes rougher as you venture deeper into the backcountry. Expect a mix of creek and wash crossings, rolling hills, and sections of shelf road that add to the adventure. Campsites are scattered along the route, with a well-equipped trailhead at the end of this out-and-back trail. The Salt Flat Trailhead has features, grills, and fire rings for a comfortable basecamp for your hiking or camping needs.

Difficulty
This is an unmaintained trail with many wash crossings, shelf road sections, loose rock on inclines and declines, and is one vehicle wide. There is a nice hiking trailhead at the East end of the trail, with picnic tables, fire rings, and ample room for parking. There is no service on this route, so offline maps are recommended.
