Trail Overview
Elephant Hill
This is a favorite trail among offroaders. It requires a National Park fee as well as a day-use permit for the stunning Needles District. There are many fantastic hiking trails in this area, and even non-hikers will love the Joint Trail. Dogs are not allowed, and vehicles and drivers must be licensed.
Getting There
From Moab, drive south on Hwy. 191 about 40 miles and turn right on Hwy. 211. Proceed west 34.3 miles to entry station of Canyonlands N.P. Pay fee and continue to visitor center just ahead. Continue past visitor center 3 miles and turn left at sign for Elephant Hill. Turn right at 0.3 and 0.2 before entrance to Squaw Flat C.G. Follow winding dirt road another 2.7 miles to parking lot at Elephant Hill.
