Trail Overview
Dome Plateau
Large, breathtaking caves and stunning arches are part of the reason people really enjoy this trail. There are also some really cool, old mining camps and a variety of overlooks to enjoy. ATVs and UTVs are great for this trail, but take a different route than licensed vehicles.
We are sorry to report that the old historic Dewey Bridge was destroyed by a brush fire in April of 2008. It ran parallel to the modern bridge you cross now. You can still visit an old 2-story cave house just off Highway 128. Continue 0.9 mile and turn left onto a small dirt road. Walk about 200 feet west. Danger! Do not enter.
Getting There
From Highway 191 north of Moab, drive east 30 miles on Highway 128 along the scenic Colorado River. Cross Dewey Bridge and immediately turn left on gravel road at mile marker 30. To reach alternate entrance, continue 4.2 miles on Hwy. 128 and turn left into large UDOT lot and corral. You can park here, but we recommend you continue up the road another half mile to a separate staging area.
