Trail Overview
Transfer Trail
Riders can start from the top or bottom of this trail, but OHVs and dirt bikes may want to start at the bottom where there's a staging area and fun spur trails to ride. Camping options at the top with beautiful vistas at Windy Point. Open end of May to mid-November.
Getting There
From Glenwood Springs: Get off I-70 at Exit 116 and go north. Follow our map detail to get to the roundabout. Take W. 6th Street from the roundabout 0.4 mile to paved Traver Trail on the right. Continue uphill another 0.4 mile and turn right on Transfer Trail, a wide gravel road that services a large active mine. Watch for trucks. Turn left to parking lot at the top in another 1.9 miles. Trail starts just uphill at a large well-marked yellow gate and old metal sign “Transfer Trail.”
