Trail Overview
Grizzly Jeep Road
Convenient, but very challenging, connector road between Coffee Pot Road and Transfer Trail. You will drop down from a high ridge and ride through old Grizzly Cow Camp. This is a fun ride for unlicensed vehicles with a few options for dispersed camping, which are used by hunters in the fall. Open mid-June to mid-November, depending on snow.
Getting There
Take I-70 to Dotsero, Exit 133. (Westbound traffic must continue another 0.7 mile on frontage road to Colorado River Road.) Head north along the paved Colorado River Road 301, following signs toward Burns. After small bridge at 1.7 miles, turn left on Coffee Pot Road. Continue uphill 22.8 miles to well-marked Grizzly Jeep Road, F.S. 632, on left.
