You'll find hiking, biking and water fun at the end of this short route. The scenery is unbelievable, and there are some challenging obstacles to play on. Good camping is available along the way, so you may want to stay awhile and check out all the area has to offer.
From Stockton, take Route 4 northeast about 97 miles to Bear Valley where gas is available. Continue another 3.4 miles and turn right at sign for Lake Alpine West Shore. Follow paved road south just one-tenth mile. Avoid left turn for Alpine Lake Campground. Bear right where road swings left to main parking area. Road immediately changes to gravel. Trail starts on left where Bear Valley Biking Trail goes right.
