Trail Overview
Fire Point, Timp Point
The north rim of the Grand Canyon is spectacular from this trail located in Kaibab National Forest. There is a section just before Fire Point that unlicensed vehicle owners should park and hike the last mile.
History
Fires are fairly common on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. At Fire Point, you’ll see evidence of the latest fire, which occurred in July 2011. A hiking trail runs from Fire Point to Timp Point, then continues to other points along the rim.
Getting There
From Highway 89A in Jacob Lake, drive south 26.6 miles on Highway 67 to wide Forest Service Road 22 on right.
