Area 65 regulates hunting opportunities for whitetail deer in Wyoming and covers 1,224 square miles. Public lands comprise 320 square miles (27%) of the total land covered by this hunt area. The greater region is best serviced by Douglas, Deer Creek, and Glenrock. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 4,500 feet to a high of 10,000 feet above sea level. Wildfires have burned nearly 110 acres here in the last two years, providing opportunities for new vegetation and attracting a variety of wildlife. This area is a gateway to these forested areas: Medicine Bow National Forest. Additionally, 41 sites are open to the public for access to managed private lands.
