The 37 OCHOCO unit, wildlife management unit regulates hunting opportunities for wildlife in Oregon and covers 1,609 square miles. Public lands comprise 966 square miles (61%) of the total land covered by this wildlife management unit. The greater region is best serviced by Prineville, Mitchell, and Dayville. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 2,400 feet to a high of 6,800 feet above sea level. This area contains 25 campgrounds, and 2 public fishing access sites.
