Public lands comprise 919 square miles (26%) of the total land covered by this hunt management unit. The greater region is best serviced by Presque Isle, Alpena, and Cathro. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 600 feet to a high of 1,500 feet above sea level. This area contains 34 campgrounds, and 10 public fishing access sites.
