Unit 12 regulates hunting opportunities for deer in Kansas and covers 2,688 square miles. Public lands comprise 34 square miles (2%) of the total land covered by this wildlife management unit. The greater region is best serviced by Coffeyville, Independence, and Eureka. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 700 feet to a high of 1,600 feet above sea level. This area contains 12 campgrounds, and 17 public fishing access sites. Additionally, 41 sites are open to the public for access to managed private lands.
