The Archery Only unit regulates hunting opportunities for antelope in Kansas and covers 19,209 square miles. Public lands comprise 211 square miles (2%) of the total land covered by this wildlife management unit. The greater region is best serviced by Garden City, Dodge City, and Hays. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 1,700 feet to a high of 4,000 feet above sea level. Wildfires have burned nearly 702 acres here in the last two years, providing opportunities for new vegetation and attracting a variety of wildlife. This area contains 14 campgrounds, and 18 public fishing access sites. Additionally, 1373 sites are open to the public for access to managed private lands.
