Unit A3 regulates hunting opportunities for deer in Florida and covers 5,275 square miles. Public lands comprise 181 square miles (4%) of the total land covered by this hunt zone. The greater region is best serviced by Bonita Shores, East Naples, and Naples. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 100 feet to a high of 200 feet above sea level. Wildfires have burned nearly 1,978 acres here in the last two years, providing opportunities for new vegetation and attracting a variety of wildlife. There are 14 trailheads that provide public gateways to these wilderness areas: J.N. Ding Darling Wilderness.
