Begins relatively flat at the parking area. Once the trail crosses the park road and the Campground Connector Trail branches off, it quickly steepens. Fairly rocky during the descent but still runnable.
Ends at the rail bed shortly above river height. It doesn't connect to other trails at the river, but you can easily get to the Union Dam Trail.
