Steel Mill Trail

This path is actually a small leg of a larger system. The trail continues to the south into Days Dam Metro Park or, if you head west at the trailhead, it continues on a ways ending at 611 near Kansas Road in Lorain. This section of trail isn't very pleasant. There is almost no shade till you're near Days Dam Metro Park. Before the second bridge, the trail is tightly fenced off with a very 'Mad Max' vibe. To the west is the dormant Lorain Steel Mill and to the east, a gravel pit. After a mile of this view, you'll come to a bridge that crosses the river then it does open up to a wooded area.
