Description
Edison-Lava is most often done as an out-and-back. The route can also be connected with the Metolius-Windigo for some long hikes around Mt Bachelor. Traveling through a volcanic landscape scattered with pine and hemlock, the trail is moderately rugged with some steep grades and loose rocks. The majority of the climbing is near the midpoint of the trail. It's about 1,500' of uphill rewarded with the same elevation loss when descending.
