Description
The Perea Nature Trail is a one mile loop just outside San Ysidro. It features views of colorful cliffs and the high desert landscape. During the hike you'll get some views of the Jemez Mountains to the northeast and the Nacimiento Mountains to the north. As you hike down the trail there are signposts that will tell you about the plants in this wetland ecosystem and also their native medicinal uses. There are several benches along the way. When the trail splits, if you take northern bend, you'll dead-end at a bench under a shady Cottonwood tree.
