From the trailhead, hikers will follow blue blazes for the Blue Ridge Trail. The trail passes through wooded and meadow areas. At approximately 2 miles, hikers will reach the Red Knob Overlook that provides a nice glimpse of the surrounding mountains. Hikers then descend for about a mile and loop back to the parking area.
