Stony Mountain Trail

This off-the-beaten-path trail runs between the Rose River Fire Road and the Rapidan Road following yellow blazes (Horse Trail). The trail provides for a nice loop hike for campers staying at the !Big Meadows campground to connect the Dark Hollow Falls and Rose River Falls to the Big Meadows. The trail also provides some relief from the crowds of the very popular area and you are likely to be hiking it without others around. The beauty and solace make this out-of-the-way trail worth the journey.
