The first half mile of the trail is in full sun before you hit the woods for the next 0.7 miles on a steady, not unpleasant climb. After the first 2.5 miles, the trail steepens and widens. At 3.1 miles, stay to the right and take Buck's Bypass to join the Big Rock Ridge Fire Road or call it a day, take a look around you at the beautiful views in all directions and head back to your car.
