Description
Starting from a well-signed junction with the Blue Bird Loop, this trail heads north through the woods to reach the Blue Bird Mine. One of the many famous mines in Boulder County, Blue Bird was owned by multiple different parties and operated profitably until the price of silver dropped in 1893 and forced the owners to close up their operation. While no longer active, this old mine site provides a great place to check out while exploring Caribou Ranch. While on the property, take time to imagine yourself in the shoes of the original settlers and those that came after in search of mineral riches.
