The trail starts on Stockade Lake Drive, with the trailhead just across the street from the parking lot. It's a short, semi-steep incline to the top, where you then traverse your way down through the rest of the loop. From the top, enjoy beautiful views of Black Elk Peak and the highway/lake area. This is a great trail if you are in Custer and have an hour or so to spare.
