Point to Point
This trail is singletrack with sections of washout due to heavy horse use, cutting through the heart of the Black Elk Wilderness. Moving north from Custer State Park through the wilderness, you move back into the Forest Service land once past Mount Rushmore. You also have the option of taking the Mt. Rushmore Spur Trail which allows you foot access to the National Memorial.
Because of the wet conditions and heavy horse traffic, several sections near the Grizzly Bear Creek Falls area are heavily damaged and almost impassible. (June-2019)
