Description
From the entrance road to Holzwarth Historic Site, take the trail north. The trail parallels the Trail Ridge Road, passing through the Timber Creek Campground and the Beaver Ponds Picnic Area before ending at the entrance road to the Colorado River Trailhead (beginning of the Colorado River Trail - La Poudre Pass Trail; the Lulu City Trail; Thunder Pass Trail, etc.) The trail may be vague north of the Beaver Ponds Picnic Area. The trail is perfect for viewing wildlife; enjoying the Colorado River and views to the Never Summer Mountains, and acclimating to the high elevation.
