Point to Point
This trail does not offer the most spectacular views, but a pleasant hike through Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest with a rewarding alpine lake at the end. The first mile of this old dirt road is almost flat, but the incline increases afterwards. The road is often very washed out and littered with rocks. Cross little creeks at 0.9 miles and 2 miles. Meadows line both sides as you continue and eventually parallel Leavitt Creek. After 2.5 miles, the trail levels out and trees become sparse as you approach Leavitt Lake. Cross Leavitt Creek at 2.9 miles and continue to follow the main dirt road ignoring the network of side roads and social trails. The road veers away from the lake again and starts a gentle ascent on the east side of the lake until you reach a turnpike.
