The Wilson Mountain Reservation Trail begins at the main parking area on Common Street in Dedham and forms a forested loop marked by blue blazes. From the trailhead, follow Water Path west into the woods, then continue onto Streamside Path, which transitions into Pine Path and curves south. Stay right at the next junction to follow Long Path. After passing two more junctions, cross a boardwalk and continue onto Swamp Trail, which then continues as Laurel Path.
At the next intersection, turn right onto Wilson Mountain Trail to return to the parking area. The route passes through varied terrain, including rhododendron thickets, rocky sections, and forested boardwalks. Near the midpoint, it traverses Wilson Mountain—the highest point in Dedham—offering partial views of the Boston skyline and nearby Blue Hills Reservation through breaks in the trees. Trail markers can be faint in places, so carrying a map or GPS-based navigation app is recommended. Several inner connector trails allow hikers to shorten the loop or explore the summit area more directly. Open year-round, the route offers an easy-to-moderate outing for hikers and leashed dogs alike.
