Only visitors of the Crystal Cave Tour are able to partake in this short hike and enter the cave. See the Sequoia Parks Conservancy website for more information. This short trip is a great tour for families and anyone looking to see a different side of Sequoia National Park. Wear a sturdy shoes, because it can get slippery inside;also, cave temperatures can be on the cool side, so bring a layer to stay warm. From the parking lot, follow the guide's directions before embarking on the trail. The trail is just about half a mile each way, and is a constant descent to the bottom (read: uphill return journey). The tour guides don't give much time to sight-see on the way down to the cave entrance because of the tour schedule. However, you'll have plenty of time to rest and take pictures of the cascading waterfalls after the cave tour, on your way back up to the parking lot.
