The Columbia Children's Arboretum Trail is an easy path that winds through the 27 acre park area in North Portland.Under control of the Portland Parks Dept, the Children's Arboretum is a manicured and maintained natural area with an abundance of trees and shade, as well as benches and open space. The trail follows a paved ADA accessible path that crosses the area, with a dirt loop path veering along the park's perimeter. The dirt path tends to be muddy following wet conditions, however remains a flat and mostly easy walk that passes scenic groves of trees and a coupld ponds. Each state has their state tree represented throughout the arboretum area. Visitors can opt to follow the loop path, or just explore at their own whims. There are a couple parking spots in a lot at the park's western end on NE 6th Dr, otherwise street parking is available on either side. There is an outhouse and drinking fountain near the park's western end.Further history of the arboretum area can be found here.
