This a long and beautifully-maintained trail. They keep it nice by closing it to horses and mountain bikers when the trail is muddy. I suspect the trail holds water more than most trails. Much of it is flat, but there are some elevation changes. There are three distinct biomes - river bottom-lands, a pine ridge, and sections of rehabbed prairie.
