Description
The trail starts just inside the wilderness boundary at the intersection of Iron Creek - Stanley Lake Trail #640 and Trail Creek Trail #453 on a saddle overlooking Stanley Lake Creek to the north and Trail Creek to the south. This trail immediately leaves the wilderness area and starts climbing Observation Peak to the west and well into the Boise National Forest. The trail basically whips back and forth with switchbacks and ridge running all the way to the top. There is a few views on the way up but hold out for the full panorama. Just a fun FYI. You are for the most part hiking the county line between Boise County and Custer County all the way up.
