Path Type
There and Back
The trail itself is fairly straightforward and is level for about a half-mile, though those with a fear of heights may want to skip this one. The middle part of the trail takes you across some narrow paths with a great deal of exposure on either side. You'll pass through some sections that are only a few feet wide with 3-400 foot drops on either side. This exposure plus some scrambling to get to the mesa with the ruin add some difficulty to the journey. After that, there is a gradual descent. At about 1.5 miles you'll begin a good descent that leads to the cabin along the river. There is also the option to ascend to the platform with the Anasazi Ruin. Getting to the top takes some climbing through rock.
