South Hiking Loop

Other than a brief wooded portion to the west, this trail consists of open grassland teaming with grasshoppers and butterflies in the summer months. In the distance, the town of Marengo can be seen to the South. Though dry for much of the year, the trail can be wet or muddy in the spring. The route is partially paved to the North, but all mowed grass elsewhere.
