Point to Point
Starting at Salmon Falls Bridge, ascend to the ridge for views of the area. The hills will keep the trail interesting, not to mention the unbeatable views. About four miles in, the trail winds through trees, abundant with the sound of nature. The trail also connects to the Cronan Ranch and Magnolia Ranch trail systems.
The trail is well defined with no intersections prior to connecting with the Cronan Ranch trail system. Be aware of rocky switchbacks, as it is not hard to catch a toe on the first main climb. After this climb, the trail smooths out with plenty of hills, vistas, and benches.
The trail follows with South Fork of the American River, providing epic views and soundtracks for your time on trail. Poison oak, cougars, and rattlesnakes frequent the area, so caution is recommended. Do not forget your water as much of the trail is exposed to the sun.
