Point to Point
The parking for the start of this trail is off of Taylor Creek Rd (NF-25), 3.6 miles southwest of Galice Rd. There are actually several spots to park and join the trail off of Taylor Creek Rd further down if you're looking for a shorter hike.
At 10.3 miles this would make a long out-and-back hike to do in a day; either consider camping or have a shuttle arranged.
From the trailhead, the northern portion of trail drops into the Taylor Creek drainage and starts out smooth and fairly level. Once you have reached the main stem of Taylor Creek the trail traverses the steep hill side with a few steep climbs and descents, and a few creek crossings. The trail surface is mainly smooth dirt with a few rock screes and roots to break it up. The creek provides some great pools to cool off in the hot summer heat.
There are a few trails that intersect the trail, so watch the junctions and make sure you're staying straight on Taylor Creek Trail.
