Point to Point
This is one of the best trails for all season use. There are several summits with outstanding views, but this "Western Ridge" hike is the closest one to the chalet and is a short interesting hike when combined with Snowshoe Trail B1 back to the chalet. The trail branches off Snowshoe Trail A1 that starts right by the chalet and continues through a mature spruce forest right to Games Trail.
Across Games Trail the path meanders through a young deciduous forest that emerged after the forest fire in the 1980's. There is a bit of an incline and then the trail passes over a bare windswept knoll. Look closely for markers as there aren't many substantial trees to hold signs. The height provides some great views of other snowshoeing destinations and of course Gosling Lake, Lake Melville and Mealy Mountains.
