The trail surface ranges from singletrack dirt trail through a field to a dirt trail with small boulder type rocks on the trail.This part is in the forest. Geologic formations are also seen as well as a small lake. Large stone steps and stone bridges for stream crossings dot the landscape. Typical Maine forest. We saw plenty of bird life and a porcupine in a tree along the trail.
