Description
The Serpentine Trail takes you on a quick yet worthwhile there-and-back hike to the top of Anderson Dam. The trail is moderately strenuous, with a 200-foot gain in 0.4 miles. The trailhead is located in Anderson Lake County Park just beyond the bridge. From here, follow the paved trail left or right through the picnic areas until you reach an unmarked dirt path. Take this path and follow the trail markers to the top of the hill. The pathway is a combination of dirt and rock that is broken up in some areas, but it is still manageable to hike without climbing. Once you've reached the top, enjoy some fantastic views of Morgan Hill and Anderson Reservoir. If you follow the road to the reservoir parking lot, the Lakeview Trailhead has more vista opportunities. Note that all trails and areas in Anderson Lake County Park are dog friendly.
