Description
Trail starts at the South Saddle of Box Elder and branches off of the White Canyon Trail. From the saddle set your sights due south on the summit of Box Elder. The trail follows a mix of good footpaths and hardly noticeable social trails. As you head towards the peak, simply follow the ridge. Good route finding skills are key, though the path is pretty straight forward. Simply stick close to the ridge until you gain the summit. Take a good break at the USGS marker for the summit high point. Close to that marker is a summit register. On the way down make sure to follow the correct ridge. While it is not difficult, make sure to double check your chosen path. Follow the same route back to the saddle. *Note: this route is best-done mid to late summer. Often patches of snow remain till late in the season since you're approaching on the northern aspect of the summit.
