Mountain bikes and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are allowed in the park on the backcountry roads. In order to protect yourself and the surrounding ecosystem, mechanical travel is restricted to established roads. Tracks on open desert can remain for years and damages the desert ecosystem while tarnishing the experience for subsequent visitors. Off-road vehicles and all-terrain vehicles may not be used in the park.

Point to Point
Joining the southeastern corner of Geology Tour Road with Dillon Road, this 4-wheel-drive, backcountry dirt road requires a high clearance vehicle. From the Geology Tour Road, the road leaves the park boundary after 11.5 miles (18.4 km). The last 3.9 miles (6.24 km) to Dillon Road head past the ruins of the Berdoo Camp, which was constructed in the 1930s by those responsible for the California Aquaduct.
