Description
You can reach this loop most directly from the Sky Crest Trailhead via either the Timber Riders or Skycrest Trails. For a longer hike, you can reach it from the Espey Trailhead via the Outback Loop. Where the Outback Trail doubles back on itself in the northeast corner of the park, take the Timber Riders and Sky Crest Trails for a short distance to the start of the Skycrest Loop Trail. This trail takes you around an unnamed peaklet through some ponderosa pines and past points where you can look south toward Bolt Mountain (where you'll find the Bolt Mountain Trail) and north toward downtown Grants Pass.
