The trail is typically covered in snow from October-June.
Path Type
Point to Point
After meandering around Snow Lake, take a left at a marked intersection with signs to Gem Lake. From here, the trail climbs quickly out of the Snow Lake basin.
The path is easy to follow, climbing through boulder fields and marshy meadows. The trail is technical in places as you cross the boulders. As you climb, take a look back at a nice view of Snow Lake as you leave it behind. The rugged Gem Lake comes into view as you crest the ridge. A quick descent brings you to the lake.
